If ever there was a sign that Spring is right around the corner, this line up of street furniture from Arion Place in Bed-Stuy is it. It comes from the camera of our Roving Correspondent, Miss Heather, of course.

Here’s one from the streets of Bed-Stuy via Miss Heather. We call it Waiting Room Couch with Mattress and Trash as it combines all three vital elements. At least, we hope that’s a waiting room couch, because it sure doesn’t look like something comfortable to have at home.

Street Couch Series: Bushwick Couchfest

They’re not street couches per se in the sense of being discarded or put out on the sidewalk to sit on, but they’re definitely the Street Couches of 2015 through 2050, depending. Miss Heather captured this glimpse of the Street Couches of the future on McKibben Street in Bushwick.

Street Couch Series: Good as Gold

No, it’s not exactly street couch and it’s probably not even part of a sectional, but this golden beauty epitomizes luxurious street furniture in a suburban Memphis, circa 1981, kind of way. It is purely Street Lounge quality. We found it on N. 1 Street while checking out the big Karl Fischer construction site and finding that–protestations to the contrary notwithstanding–developers seem to be racing to beat a downzoning and toss up a 15-story building. This was what we found around the corner.

Street Couch Series: Montrose Ave. Club Couch

This beautiful specimen comes from Leonard Street at Montrose Avenue in East Williamsburg via our Roving Greenpoint Correspondent. She writes, by way of background:

As anyone (especially women) who live in the area can attest, this corner is often populated by large groups of men “hanging out”. While drinking beer they sometimes enjoy themselves (and each other) by hollering at female passersby…these gentlemen were indeed members of the Katz Club which, as you can clearly see, is strictly a “Members Only” organization. They even have their own couch.

Nice sofa.

Street Couch Series: Bushwick Seating

Well, this is probably more “street seating” than a street couch and it’s in much better shape than some of the sofas we’ve featured. In any case, it’s from Sudyam Street in Bushwick and comes from our traveling correspondent, Miss Heather.

This futon comes from India Street in Greenpoint via Miss Heather. We’re taken by its proximity to the G Train.

Street Couch Series: Bed-Stuy Beauty

This beauty comes from Madison Street in Bed-Stuy. Unlike many street couches, which are junked, this sample is in very good shape. If the weather were a bit warmer, it would be ready for serious sidewalk enjoyment. It comes, of course, from Miss Heather.
